Newton County Animal Clinic has your pet’s best interest at heart at all times. We make sure that we stay up to date on the latest techniques and treatments so that we can diagnose and treat your pet most accurately. We recently added digital radiography, a most effective tool that enables our veterinarians to safely and quickly assess the status of injuries or diseases that may be affecting your pet.
A painless, non-invasive procedure, digital radiography captures images of the body’s internal organs and skeletal system using very low doses of radiation. These images can be manipulated, enhanced, and contrasted, allowing our veterinarians to diagnose a condition more accurately without having to take a number of retakes. We also can share the digital images with specialists, if necessary, saving valuable time for your pet.
Typically, digital radiography can help with diagnosing fractures, locating foreign objects, detecting masses such as tumors, diagnosing pneumonia, discovering pregnancies, bladder stones, chronic arthritis, and certain spinal cord diseases.
